Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
Georgetown Oaks is committed to providing a website and on-site experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and to continually improve accessibility across our digital and physical spaces.
Measures We Take
-
Build and review pages with semantic HTML, proper heading order, and descriptive link text.
-
Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and non-text content.
-
Maintain sufficient color contrast and keyboard-accessible navigation.
-
Avoid content that flashes more than three times per second.
-
Test updates against accessibility checklists and user feedback.
-
Train staff and vendors on accessible content practices.
Conformance Status
We strive for WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. Portions of the site may not yet fully meet all criteria as we continue to improve. If you encounter any barriers, please let us know so we can address them promptly.
Compatibility With Browsers & Assistive Technology
Our site is designed to be compatible with:
-
The two most recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
-
Mobile operating systems (iOS and Android).
-
Common assistive technologies (screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, switch devices) when used with supported browsers.
Some older browsers or operating systems may not display all content optimally.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility relies on the following technologies to work with your browser and assistive tech: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript. These technologies are relied upon to ensure standards-compliant rendering and interaction.
Physical Accessibility
For in-person visits and events at Georgetown Oaks, we are happy to discuss accessibility needs (e.g., entrance access, seating, parking, restroom access, service animals). Please contact us ahead of your visit so we can support appropriate accommodations.
Known Limitations & Ongoing Work
We are actively improving:
-
Legacy pages or third-party embeds that may not have full keyboard support.
-
Occasional missing alt text on newly uploaded images.
-
PDF documents that may require accessible reformatting.
If you find an issue not listed here, please tell us and we’ll prioritize a fix.
Third-Party Content & Integrations
Our site may include links or embedded content from third-party providers (e.g., maps, forms, payment processors). While we encourage our partners to meet accessibility standards, we do not control their code. If a third-party feature creates a barrier, we will offer an alternative method (phone/email scheduling, direct invoice link, etc.).
